This afternoon 4:11 p.m. the New Lenox Fire Protection District received a call for a residential structure fire on the 900 block of Schoolgate Road. Upon arrival, the fire was upgraded to a full-still response.
The fire appears to have started outside and traveled up the side of the building into the attic. The fire was under control by 4:31 p.m. Most of the damage was kept to one unit, which is currently vacant.
Two dogs were rescued from a neighboring unit. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. |
