Since 2015, the New Lenox Fire Protection District has been honoring our nation’s veterans through the Wreaths Across America campaign. We raise funds through donations and sponsorships for the purchase of wreaths which are placed at the Abraham Lincoln Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.

The Abraham Lincoln Cemetery currently has more than 50,000 grave sites. Unfortunately, each year not every gravesite receives a wreath. It is our goal to sponsor and provide as many wreaths as possible to help fill the void and honor each veteran’s gravesite through the Wreaths Across America program. 

In 2022, the Wreaths for Veterans committee expanded the program to include the gravesites of veterans who are buried in New Lenox cemeteries.

Wreaths are $15. We accept both Cash or Check donations year round. Checks should be made payable to: Wreaths for Veterans, which is a 501c3 organization. Donations can be mailed to: NLFPD, 261 E. Maple Street, New Lenox, IL 60451.
